A long, long time ago when Tiger was little he pronounced green as “geen”. At this time Grandma N lived about 8 hours away. Grandma N came for a visit and decided she was going to help Tiger learn to pronounce “r” after “g,” such as in the word green.
Grandma N practiced and practiced with Tiger, helping him say Green instead of “Geen”. Grandma N was quite pleased with herself for helping this first grandchild learn to say “Gr”.
After Grandma N left to go back to her house 8 hours away, Tiger looked at me and said, “Mom, do you know how Gama says Geen? She says Grrr-een!” And then he started giggling like that was the funniest thing he had ever heard! Apparently he had just been humoring Grandma N.
